AUTUMN 2025 WATERCOLOR CLASS SCHEDULE // FROM 6:30 - 8:30 PM
September 4 - Plein air painting
Learn how to use perspective and scale to create a landscape en plein air! In this class we’ll focus on techniques for creating a composition, as well as how to enhance your foreground, middle ground, and background. Please note: This class will meet at Bryan Park.
September 18 - Multiples + nature
In this class, we’ll learn techniques for painting flowers, trees, clouds, and more. Students will create three paintings using the same image and will learn how to use variation in their work.

October 2 - Still life painting
Still life painting returns! In this workshop, we will paint gourds and seasonal flowers. Attendees will learn about reflection and shadow, color mixing, and backgrounds.
October 30 - Artist studies
In this class, we’ll make artist studies (duplicates of famous paintings) using watercolor. We’ll start with learning how to replicate a composition and propositions accurately with drawing. Then, attendees will focus on using watercolors for color-matching, layering, and details.

November 13 - Style + inspiration
Finding your style can be a challenge. But once you do, it opens up a world of possibilities and creates confidence as an artist. In this workshop, we’ll walk through several exercises to help you find your artistic style and will also discuss how to find inspiration as artists.

December 11 - Holiday workshop
Join me for a festive holiday workshop! We'll make watercolor holiday cards and a small watercolor painting you can give to a loved one.
PLEASE NOTE:
• There is a prerequisite for this class. Registrants should have taken a watercolor class in the past year or completed three or more Series I Classes.
• Unless otherwise noted in the schedule above, all watercolor workshops will be held in the Fell Artist Galleries and Studios - 415 W 4th Street, Bloomington, IN
• Workshops will be capped at ten students for optimal instruction.
• Watercolor workshops are geared to students ages 18+. Attendees aged 15+ are welcome so long as a parent or guardian also attends or is present at pick-up/drop-off.
• Should you select the “bring my own materials” option, you will be emailed a materials list that includes: watercolor paints (blue, red, and yellow), 3-4 watercolor brushes, and watercolor paper
